En cada acción solidaria a los niños de SChHome están siempre presentes grandes seres, expresando su altruismo y creatividad de muy diversas formas. Es el caso también de Joanne Vitello y su amiga Sue Hershelman, que han confeccionado esta preciosa y única colcha de patchwork, con historia familiar y sorpresa incluidas en algunas de sus telas.

Es un patchwork acolchado, de algodón y poliéster , de 200 x 220 cm. Podéis verlo desplegado en la entrada de Dones d’Aigua, en la zona destinada a Sangha Children’s Home.

Si estás interesad@, escríbenos a obra.social@sanghaactiva.org, antes del 30 de abril y dinos cuál sería tu donativo para adquirirla (mínimo 50 euros). A los que escriban, se les irá informando del donativo máximo ofrecido, por si desean modificar su propuesta inicial. La persona que haya propuesto el mayor donativo a 30 de abril, será la que adquiera la colcha.

Simbolizan la practicalidad, creatividad y necesidad. La idea original era, y todavía es, reciclar y reusar materiales. Siempre han sido un autorretrato de sus creadores. En este caso, Sue montó esta “cabaña de troncos estilo pioneros americanos” modificada utilizando sábanas vintage. El material utilizado para las estrellas tiene su origen en los restos de una quilt (patchwork) que Joanne hizo cuando nació su hijo hace 27 años. La impermanencia de todas las cosas nos dice que nada se mantiene igual, todo cambia. Y así también las estrellas. Con el tiempo, las estrellas cambiarán su aspecto. Os espera una sorpresa.

Quilts symbolize practically, creativity and necessity. The original idea was and still is recycle and reuse materials. They are the product of everyday life and a product of necessity. Quilts have always been self-portraits of the quilt maker. In this case, Sue pieced together this modified log cabin design (cabaña de troncos estilo pioneros americanos) using vintage sheets. The material used for the stars originated from the remains of a quilt Joanne made when her son was born 27 years ago.

The impermanence of all things tells us that nothing stays the same, everything changes. So too the stars. With time, the stars will change their aspect. A surprise awaits you.

With this quilt, we wish you many years of memories, comfort, and warmth.
